SoundCloud is a music service used in order to let users download, stream, promote and upload music. it does this on a global scale and allows users to use editing software and collaborate to produce media products.

prosumers are people who produce media products online and also consume media products - links to wikinomics, Tapscott and Williams ( 2006)

imperialism is the ideology of  one culture dominating over another, pushing its ideals and views to overtake other beliefs
