LO1 Task 1

 CBS is an American broadcast television and radio network which focuses on making  television series for older audiences, its most popular genres being crime, action, and sports,  but it also has licenses to shows in the sci-fi genre such as Star Trek. One of its more well known shows is NCIS. All of these appeal to older and more mature audiences as they have more violent and graphic ideas inside of them such as terrorism and murder however due to the theory on desensitization as even though it is advertised to the more mature audiences, it is likely that younger audiences also watch the shows as they aren't effected or opposed to these ideas or images. While they are based in America and broadcast American shows, CBS actually distributes its shows internationally, through synergy, it has a website and tv program in which you can simulcast new shows as new seasons are released. Globalisation - The production, distribution, and consumption of media products on global scale, facilitating the exchange and diffusion of ideas cross-culturally. However, some have argued that media is actually a partial cause of globalisation, rather than just anther globalised industry. Media is largely a cultural product, and the transfer of such a products likely to have an influence on the recipients culture increasingly, technology has been propelling globalisation. Instagram -  Companies use Instagram in order to post images and videos to advertise and promote products and events. For example, Corsair like to take promotional photos of their products or release short videos, these can also be done as "reels" in order to reach a larger audience.
